Saipem Awarded USD 425 Million Offshore Contract for Sakarya Phase 3 Extension

Saipem has been awarded a new offshore contract by Turkish Petroleum OTC for additional activities related to the extension of the third phase of the Sakarya gas field development, located in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea. The contract is valued at approximately USD 425 million.

Under the agreement, Saipem will execute the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of three additional subsea pipelines, totaling around 153 kilometers in length, along with the associated subsea structures. The new pipelines will connect a recently discovered natural gas reserve in the Goktepe field to the existing Sakarya Phase 3 facilities. The Goktepe field is located in approximately 2,200 meters of water depth, about 80 kilometers from the Sakarya Phase 3 field. This new infrastructure will support increased production from the field development.

The contract is expected to span approximately two and a half years and will be executed in continuity with the contract awarded to Saipem in September 2025 for the Sakarya Phase 3 development. The offshore installation campaign is scheduled for the second half of 2027 and will be carried out using Saipem’s Castorone pipelay vessel.

This contract award further reinforces Saipem’s role as a strategic partner in the delivery of major energy projects in Turkey, while supporting the sustainable development of the country’s energy sector.
