Seatrium has formalised a renewed agreement with Royal Caribbean Group, reinforcing a strategic partnership that has been in place since 2012. The extension of this collaboration highlights Seatrium’s established technical expertise and execution capabilities within its Repairs & Upgrades division, particularly in delivering complex, large-scale cruise ship retrofit and lifecycle enhancement solutions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Royal Caribbean Group is expected to deploy a substantial portion of its global fleet to Seatrium’s Singapore-based facilities over the coming years. The scope of work encompasses statutory surveys, class compliance inspections, as well as comprehensive repair, refurbishment, and upgrade programmes. This multi-year docking arrangement provides Seatrium with strong forward workload visibility and operational continuity across its yard infrastructure. The contract spans vessels operating under Royal Caribbean Group’s principal brands, including Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea Cruises.
Execution activities under the renewed partnership have already commenced. The Celebrity Solstice recently completed an extensive revitalisation programme at Seatrium’s Tuas Boulevard Yard, achieving redelivery on 28 February 2026. This is followed by the scheduled enhancement works for Ovation of the Seas, commencing in March 2026, while Silver Cloud is slated to undergo drydocking, repair, and upgrade interventions later within the calendar year.
Commenting on the agreement, Alvin Gan, Executive Vice President of Repairs & Upgrades at Seatrium, emphasised that the renewal reflects Royal Caribbean Group’s continued confidence in Seatrium’s engineering rigour and delivery performance. He noted that the Group’s Tuas Boulevard Yard—equipped with advanced dry dock infrastructure and integrated digital workflow systems—enables high-throughput project execution with optimised turnaround times, while maintaining stringent safety and quality benchmarks. He further highlighted that collaborations with globally recognised cruise operators reinforce Seatrium’s market leadership and contribute to Singapore’s strategic positioning as a premier cruise and maritime services hub.
Brian Ostergaard Sorensen, Senior Vice President of Global Marine Operations at Royal Caribbean Group, underscored Seatrium’s consistent demonstration of deep engineering competency and disciplined project management. He noted that such capabilities are critical in executing technically demanding drydock, retrofit, and upgrade programmes essential to maintaining fleet performance and regulatory compliance. He reaffirmed Royal Caribbean Group’s commitment to sustaining close operational alignment with Seatrium to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project delivery outcomes.
Seatrium continues to maintain its leadership position in Asia’s cruise repair and conversion segment, supported by a cumulative track record of servicing more than 430 cruise vessels since 1978. Through the integration of advanced engineering methodologies, digitalisation, and modern yard capabilities, the company remains well-positioned to address the evolving technical and operational requirements of the global cruise industry, with a sustained focus on innovation, reliability, and execution excellence.
