SBM Offshore has signed a contract extension with Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Limited, an affiliate of ExxonMobil and operator of Block 15, for the continued lease and operation of the FPSOs Mondo and Saxi Batuque. Under the agreement, SBM Offshore will retain ownership and operational responsibility for both units through 2032.
The extension includes a comprehensive scope of life-extension activities, encompassing equipment replacement and refurbishment to uphold the highest safety standards and ensure operational excellence throughout the extended contract period. Execution of the work is expected to commence in 2026.
This contract extension underscores SBM Offshore’s proven ability to manage complex offshore brownfield projects, as well as its strong track record in the operation and maintenance of deepwater assets. Through these agreements, SBM Offshore continues to support the Block 15 Contractor Group’s offshore energy objectives in Angola, while contributing to long-term regional growth.
Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Limited serves as the operator of Block 15. The other co-venturers include Azule Angola Limited, Azule Angola BV, Equinor Angola Block 15 A.S., and Sonangol E&P.
