Key Tasks and Responsibilities
1 Take a lead in all phases of Projects from basic engineering, detailed engineering, execution, construction, commissioning, and sail-away
2 Conversant in Brazil Regulatory requirements including ANP lessons learnt database and their impact on FPSO design.
3 Conversant in ABS Rules and class notation requirements, Flag and IMO requirements
4 Experienced with the following marine, utility and safety equipment packages:
- Hydraulic deep well cargo pumps,
- Caisson type submerged sea water lift pump and suction hosesØ Offloading system [Offloading hose reel, offloading hose & hawser winches]
Offshore Cranes,
- Slop water treatment package
- Lifeboats and Fast rescue boats [ Daughter craft]
- Pumps [Centrifugal/ Screw/Gear/Reciprocating]
- Air compressors/Air dryers,
- Marine heat exchanges and pressure vessels
- Diesel generators,
- Diesel driven Fire pumps,
- Inert gas system and hydrocarbon blanketing system,
- Nitrogen generator,
- Remote Control Ballast and Cargo valve systems,
- Freshwater Generators,
- Sewage treatment units and vacuum toilet system,
- Freshwater hydrophore and HW calorifer systems,
- Fixed Fire Fighting system, including foam / deluge system, gaseous FiFi, water mist
- LO and MGO Purifier
- Tank cleaning machines, PV vales, Valve interlock systems
- Bunker hose reel systemØ ICCP, MGPS, workshop equipment,
- Towing fittings and mooring winches, Hull fendering systems
6 Familiar with Master equipment list and working closely with marine system engineers for the required technical data and equipment selection for developing RFQ equipment specifications and data sheets
7 Update of master equipment register with vendor information
8 Working closely with other discipline engineers and layout engineers to provide equipment footprint, utilities, piping requirements to enable progress on hull detailed design and 3D modelling
9 Work closely with Supply chain regarding submitting the RFQ technical documentation, following up delivery schedules and respond to vendors queries
10 Detailed review of Supplier’s technical proposals
11 Complete Technical Clarification with suppliers and Technical Bid evaluation for selection of the packages
12 Arrange through Supply chain the Package Kick Off meetings with Suppliers
13 Review suppliers package documentation during the project
14 Technical clarifications to classification society, flag state authority, clients and shipyard as required
15 Follow up with equipment suppliers during their package design, construction and factory acceptance testing.
16 Follow up during the construction, integration and commissioning of the packages during the project.
Education
1 Master’s degree in Marine Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
2 Bachelor’s degree or long relevant experience may replace formal education
Experience
1 Ideally 20 years of relevant experience within the shipping and offshore industry
2 Ideally 10 years of experience within the FPSO industry preferably for Brazil pre-salt projects
3 Working knowledge of SmartPlant P&ID will be added advantage
Knowledge
1 Understand the various engineering disciplines and their interaction
2 Good knowledge of electronic database systems and working IT applications, and SmartPlant Suites
3 In depth knowledge of the relevant requirements of the classification societies and international rules and regulations
