Description

Role Purpose

The Deputy Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units and to ensure the consistency in Bumi Armada project methodologies in order to successfully deliver the FPSO's modules / package management and marine / vessel facilities, ensuring package is completed to meet the requirements of safety, schedule, budget & quality.

Manage resources, schedules, and financials and adhere to stage gate quality and control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

As required deputise for the Project Manager.

Description

Role Purpose
The Deputy Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units and to ensure the consistency in Bumi Armada project methodologies in order to successfully deliver the FPSO's modules / package management and marine / vessel facilities, ensuring package is completed to meet the requirements of safety, schedule, budget & quality.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

As required deputise for the Project Manager.


Principal Accountabilities

Key Accountability:
  • Lead and direct team to be flexible and adaptable to FPSOs requirements. Provide technical guidance to support contracted and proposal activities.
  • Plans and directs all aspects of project management activities within an organization.
  • Provide value-added expertise in project subject and leadership.
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
    Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings
  • Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
  • Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
  • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues
  • Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders
  • Provide performance feedback regularly to Project Managers and directing improvements activities.
  • Establish staff performance expectations and provide regular feedback from both informal and scheduled reviews.
  • Coach, resolve conflict and correct action as necessary to solve performance related issues.
  • Provide staffing forecasts and participate in all hiring activities.
  • Provide input and lead improvement of internal company procedures and processes.
  • Develop and manage multi-year project services roadmap and strategy in collaborative, multi-function, team environment.
  • Represent project team in project services development requirements and creation of schedules and budgets.
  • Progress reporting on manpower loading for current project requirements and future forecasts.
  • Ensure that the project teams maintain unrelenting focus on safety and fitness for purpose outcomes while meeting statutory, class, client and code requirements.
Knowledge Requirement
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or in related fields
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas; marine or shipbuilding related industry.
  • More than 5 years management experience in oil & gas design / project management and with at least 1 FPSO's Project.
  • Demonstrates expertise in variety of project management/operations concepts, FPSOs regulatory practices and procedures.
  • Possess a history of strong leadership, deep project management/operations knowledge and a proven track record in delivery, project management, cost control and the creativity to drive result through established fundamental processes.
