Introduction

The department Operations Technical Management is responsible for the definition, development and implementation of the relevant Floating Production Division’s corporate technical operational strategies, standards, routines, programs and procedures in support of Bluewater’s overall FPSO fleet performance management. The department is responsible for the strategy and control of the overall corporate maintenance management system. Furthermore the department is also responsible for monitoring and auditing the adherence to, compliance with and is responsible for the governance over the above mentioned technical operational processes. All in accordance with the Floating Production Division’s management and organisational structure, to obtain maximum value of the asset and to contribute to the realisation of the company’s goals and strategy.
Organization

Bluewater is a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems (SPM) and operator of Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSO). Since its foundation in 1978, Bluewater has built a technological lead specialising in design, development, lease and operation of tanker-based production and storage systems, and has become a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems.

Bluewater currently owns and operates a number of Floating Production Storage and Offloading Systems (FPSOs): the Glas Dowr, the Aoka Mizu, the Bleo Holm, the Hæwene Brim and Munin.

Function

As a Senior Naval Architect you will be responsible for delivering the engineering output of the naval/structural work scope in line with the technical specification, budget and planning, including written input to others, on time, according to the asset specific, HSE&RC and corporate requirements. You reply to InterDiscipline checks and to queries from site, client, certifying authority and vendor on time. You assist the team lead engineer in obtaining client, third party approval and establishes the fabrication and construction specifications. You act as technical advisor in construction/commissioning activities and during asset operations when requested by the Department Head or Corporate Technical Authority.
You keep knowledge and procedures up to date, check work of colleagues to improve the quality and coach more junior Naval Architects.

Requirements

A Senior Naval Architect with broad experience in the offshore industry and good communication and control skills.
Furthermore you have:
• a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical/Structural Engineering
• over 8 years of experience in naval architecture for the offshore and shipbuilding industry
• knowledge of computer literacy for discipline calculations and document processing
• good understanding of a multicultural 24/7 production environment
• knowledge of relevant international design codes and standards
• good understanding of the English language, verbally as well as in writing
• are willing to travel and work offshore
