Rig Deepwater Asgard has been awarded a new three well contracts plus one well option in the Gulf of Mexico. Presently the rig is mobilising for Beacon Offshore Energy in the Gulf of Mexico and will commence contract from June 2021 till Oct 2021 with day rate ranging from USD 240,000 to USD 280,000 with the deployment of MPD services.

Transocean’s conditional agreement with Beacon Offshore Energy for drilling services related to its Shenandoah project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico – requiring a 20,000 psi well control system – is subject to Final Investment Decision from Beacon Offshore Energy and its partners, which has been extended and is now expected to be made on or prior to July 31, 2021. The total contract value based upon the conditional agreement is estimated to be approximately $250 million.

Transocean Ltd. Announces Two Contract Awards in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico
July 28, 2021

STEINHAUSEN, Switzerland, July 28, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) announced today that the rig Deepwater Asgard has been awarded a one-well contract with another operator in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The value of this contract adds approximately 90 days and $27 million in backlog and includes $40,000 per day for managed pressure drilling services.

Both contracts are expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022.

STEINHAUSEN, Switzerland, Feb. 14, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) today issued a quarterly Fleet Status Report that provides the current status of, and contract information for, the company’s fleet of offshore drilling rigs.

This quarter’s report includes the following updates:
  • Deepwater Conqueror – Awarded a one-well contract extension in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico at $335,000 per day.
  • Deepwater Asgard – Awarded a two-well contract in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico at $395,000 per day.
  • Deepwater Invictus – Awarded a one-well contract extension in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico at $305,000 per day.
  • Discoverer Inspiration – Awarded a one-well contract, plus two one-well options in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico at $290,000 per day.
  • Paul B Loyd, Jr. – Awarded a one-well contract in the U.K. North Sea at $160,000 per day.
The aggregate incremental backlog associated with these fixtures is approximately $87.7 million. As of February 14, the company’s total backlog is approximately $6.5 billion.

Transocean Ltd. Announces $181 Million in Contracts for Ultra-Deepwater Drillship Deepwater Asgard

STEINHAUSEN, Switzerland, Sept. 06, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) announced today that the ultra-deepwater drillship, Deepwater Asgard, received two contract awards in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico for a total of approximately 14 months of work, adding $181 million in firm backlog.

The first award is a one-well contract with Murphy Oil Corporation at $395,000 per day. The contract is expected to commence late this fall after the rig completes its current contract and a planned out-of-service period. The contract also includes an option for a second well at the same dayrate. The backlog for the firm contract is approximately $20 million.

The second award, a one-year contract with another operator at $440,000 per day (plus up to $40,000 per day for additional products and services), is expected to commence in the first half of 2023. This contract also includes three, one-year option periods at mutually agreed dayrates. The firm backlog associated with the contract is estimated to be approximately $161 million, excluding any revenue associated with the additional products and services.
