Deepwater Nautilus

Deepwater Nautilus is an ulta deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig capable of working up to 8,000ft water depth and up to 30,000ft drilling depth. The rig is of Reading and Bates Falcon (RB Falcon) design constructed at Hyundai yard in year 2000. Its stationkeeping ability is maintained by a 12-point mooring system comprising of 8 Bodewes 25/1209 drum winches, 8 x 3-3/4" thick and 15,000ft long mooring lines, 8 x 3-9/16" thick and 500ft long stud link chain, and 8 x Stevpris MK-5 18MT anchors.

The rig also sports a 4 NOV 14-P-220 mud pumps and the HP mud system is rated up to 7,500psi. Its topdrive is NOV TDS-1000 and the rotary table is 60-1/2" wide. The BOP comprises Cameron 18-3/4" 15,000psi rated 5 rams preventers and 2 Cameron DL 18-3/4" 10,000psi rated annulars.

Deepwater Nautilus has been awarded a three-well contract plus threee one-well options by POSCO commencing July 2021 to August 2021. The rig has been operating for POSCO since April 2021 on USD 135,000 dyarate.
