Pluto LNG processes gas from the offshore Pluto and Xena gas fields in Western Australia.
The offshore Pluto A Platform is a not-normally manned platform, and is located 180 kilometres to the north-west of Karratha in 85 metres of water. Gas from the Pluto and Xena fields is piped through a trunkline to the onshore facility.
The onshore Pluto LNG contains a single processing train with 4.9 Mtpa LNG capacity (100% Project), 14% higher than the expected 4.3 Mtpa at the time of final investment decision in 2007.
Pluto LNG sits within the wider Pluto LNG Park, which has a total lease area of 200 hectares.
Pluto LNG is underpinned by 15-year sales agreements with Kansai Electric and Tokyo Gas, which each hold a 5% interest in the project.
