The FSRU BW Singapore is moored alongside the terminal in Ain Sokhna, Egypt, supporting Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co.’s (EGAS) project. The vessel has just completed her 5th successful year and will be stationed there for another 3 years. It is capable of regasifying up to 750 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day, supplying Egypt’s national gas grid.
BW Singapore has a storage capacity of 170,000 cubic meters and was delivered from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) shipyard in 2015. The vessel has undergone tailormade modifications in Keppel shipyard afterwards to ensure that it is well-suited to the project needs.
BW Singapore also holds the record for the fastest time from contract signing to First Gas of just 5 months, which was made possible through several “firsts” in the industry including the use of flexible risers for high-pressure gas send-out.
