LONDON & PARIS & HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 1, 2019-- TechnipFMC (NYSE:FTI) (PARIS:FTI) (ISIN:GB00BDSFG982) has been awarded by BP a large(1) contract for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit to be deployed offshore on the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal. This award is a continuation to the FEED (front end engineering design) contract awarded in April 2018.

TechnipFMC will bring its expertise to deliver major projects, leveraging extensive experience with fabrication yards and from successful references for delivery of offshore gas monetisation facilities such as Floating Liquid Natural Gas (FLNG), FPSO and conventional platforms.

Nello Uccelletti, President of TechnipFMC’s Onshore/Offshore business, commented: “We are honored to be entrusted with the execution of this prestigious contract in West Africa which is a testimonial to our long-term partnership with BP and our leadership in the Gas Monetisation industry. This award is one of our strategic “early engagement” achievements, following the successful completion by TechnipFMC of theFEED study. We look forward to collaborating with BP to unlock the full potential of this important project”.

The initial subsea infrastructure connects the first four wells consolidated through production pipelines leading to this FPSO. From here liquids are removed and the export gas is transported via a pipeline to the LNG hub terminal where the gas is liquefied.

(1)For TechnipFMC, a “large” contract ranges between $500 million and $1 billion.

Havfram is awarded African Technip Energies contract

Stavanger, June 10th. 2021: Havfram announced today that Technip Energies has awarded Havfram a contract for the pre-installation and subsequent hook-up of the subsea mooring system for a natural gas Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO). Newly founded Technip Energies is providing this facility to BP, for deployment on the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal as part of the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project. The GTA project is an innovative development which will provide gas to both the domestic market and the wider market via the inshore LNG hub/terminal.

“The Greater Tortue Ahmeyim FPSO Mooring Pre-Lay and Hook-up project is another significant mooring project award in what is a core business line for Havfram. This award further enhances our already strong track record in complex mooring projects and we are proud to have been chosen by Technip Energies for their award of such a significant project” said Odd Strømsnes, CEO, Havfram

“This is the third project Havfram has been awarded in Mauritania in recent years and again highlights Havfram’s ability to secure hotly contested projects in the global subsea market.”

Under the contract, Havfram will utilise its in-house expertise to project manage, engineer, transport and install some of the largest ever driven piles and corresponding mooring lines. Havfram will later return to hook-up the pre-installed mooring system to the FPSO on its arrival in field, executing this critical path activity safely and efficiently. The FPSO will be stationed 35km from shore in ~120m water depth.

It is a pleasure to see that our focus on quality solutions and risk mitigation have seen us chosen as the partner for production start critical operations” said Kevin Murphy, EVP Subsea and Deputy CEO, Havfram. “We are excited to build on our long-established track record in the Africa and Mediterranean region and we particularly look forward to collaborating with Technip Energies, an important client with an exciting future.”

Havfram’s project management and engineering team will be based in Havfram’s Aberdeen office in the UK. Work on the project has already commenced. Havfram is also currently contracted for similar critical start up processes for the Johan Castberg and Jotun FPSO on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

In April 2021, the Living Quarter block of the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel under construction for the GTA Phase 1 project has been safely lifted onto the hull - the first complex lift of the project.

This lift marks the completion of the FPSO’s hull and enables future lifts of modules later this year to complete the vessel.

The FPSO is being manufactured in China and will then sail to the GTA Phase 1 site.
