Zeepipe

Unread post by escveritas »

The Zeepipe transport system was originally built to carry gas sold under the Troll Gas Sales Agreements.
It has been developed in several phases.

Phase I embraces a pipeline with a diameter of 40 inches, running for 814 kilometres from the Sleipner area of the North Sea to a receiving terminal at Zeebrugge in Belgium.

In addition comes a 30-kilometre line with a diameter of 30 inches from the Sleipner area to the Draupner S platform. This first phase of Zeepipe became operational on 1 October 1993.

Phase II embraces the 40-inch Zeepipe IIA pipeline, running 303 kilometres from the Troll Gas processing plant at Kollsnes near Bergen to the Sleipner area, and the 40-inch Zeepipe IIB line which runs for 304 kilometres from Kollsnes to Draupner E.

Contractual gas deliveries from Troll began on 1 October 1996 via the Kollsnes facility and on through Zeepipe IIA. Contractual deliveries through Zeepipe IIB started on 1 October 1997.

Zeepipe I

From: Sleipner
To: Zeebrugge
Length: 814 km
Diameter: 40"
Available technical capacity (ATC)*: 42 MSm3/d
Technical Service Provider (TSP): Statoil
Operator: Gassco
Gassled: Area D

Zeepipe II A

From: Kollsnes
To: Sleipner Riser
Length: 303 km
Diameter: 40"
Available technical capacity (ATC)*: 74 MSm3/d
Technical Service Provider (TSP): Statoil
Operator: Gassco
Gassled: Area D

Zeepipe II B

From: Kollsnes
To: Draupner E
Length: 304 km
Diameter: 40"
Available technical capacity (ATC)*: 73 MSm3/d
Technical Service Provider (TSP): Statoil
Operator: Gassco
Gassled: Area D

* ATC (Available Technical Capacity) is rounded to the nearest whole number [MSm³/d]. The actual transport capacity, available for potential users of these pipelines, could be influenced by pressure dependencies between different pipelines, temperature, gas quality, operational constraints etc.
