NOV GustoMSC CJ70 is a three-legged cantilever type jack-up drilling rig that is part of the well-established GustoMSC CJ series. The series consists of seven distinct types for moderate and harsh environment designs. The CJ70 is the largest unit in the series currently in operation and is driving the boundaries of jack-up territory further out.

The CJ70 is specifically designed for all-year use in water depths up to 150 meters on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in the North Sea, taking into account all Norwegian regulatory requirements regarding safety and working environment. It provides competition in an area previously dominated by floaters but does that with much better uptime during the harsh winter months and with significantly less motion of the drill string due to the fixed nature of a jack-up. The innovative X-Y skidding system provides a large drilling envelope of 110x66ft.

The CJ series further consists of the CJ43, CJ46, CJ50, CJ54, CJ62, and CJ80.
