QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Relevant education from technical/mechanical school/education
Required valid IWCF/IADC Drilling Well Control certificate (Subsea and Surface) – Supervisor level 4
Systematic familiarisation/competence assessment(s) for position
Documented practical experience as Driller/Toolpusher from permanent/floating installations.
Must satisfy the requirement of NOROG guidelines 024
The crew will mobilize out of Bergen / Stavanger
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the crew activity and well operation include carrying out objectives established by the Drilling Section Leader or operator’s Drilling Supervisor. Essential functions include problem solving, conducting inspections and operational meetings, interacting with other rig departments, and communicating directions to the Driller. The ultimate objective of this position is to complete successful offshore oil and/or gas wells to the satisfaction of the Client, Company management and within compliance of applicable regulations.
- Manages and directs the activities in accordance with Drilling Section Leader directions, client goals, regulation and CMS.
- Operates the drilling unit in accordance with safe and acceptable practices within company guidelines and policy
- Conducts internal assessments (where applicable) to company standards and procedures on activities within your area of competence.
- Conducts pre-tour meetings with drill crew to communicate daily objectives, special instructions, safety precautions and training activities as required
- Maintain appropriate well control certification and operate the drilling unit in accordance with safe well control practices and in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with other department heads, supervisors, operator’s representatives, subcontractors and other personnel on the drilling unit.
- Operate in such a manner which results in achieving safe and effective operation including but not limited to the following areas:
-Safety
-Client drilling curve
-Rig budget (cost control)
-Manpower turnover
-Rig appearance/housekeeping
- Eliminate any waste, and establish a cost conscious planning effort within area of responsibility.
- Ensure that rig equipment is maintained in compliance with Company’s Maintenance Standard within area of responsibility.
- Ensure that adequate levels of inventory for the drilling system equipment area maintained, accurately inventoried and preserved.
- Be knowledgeable of all Company policies and procedures that pertain to your area of responsibility, including firefighting, emergency and lifesaving equipment and emergency response. Actively lead and participate in safety discussions, safety drills and inspections.
- Inspect drilling unit and ensure compliance with all regulatory body requirements.
- Maintain all Company paperwork in a neat, timely and orderly fashion.
- Ensure that all drilling related equipment is maintained and operated properly.
- Review all Operational/Technical Bulletins and implement all directives as required.
- Pre plan operational needs, organize equipment and supplies, conduct testing of critical equipment/systems as required, pre-inspect safety related issues and direct crews for operations.
