In 2002, JGC landed a contract from IHI to construct a new LPG FPSO. Construction was completed in 2004.
This was the second project in the world to build a ship-shaped LPG FPSO, and along with the execution of the first Belanak LPG FPSO project, JGC acquired a lot of knowhow in the process design to deal with rolling motions and fatigue design. The experience has provided highly valuable information in the acquiring and execution of FPSO and FLNG projects thereafter.
