Seatrium Delivers its First FSRU Project to New Fortress Energy

Singapore, 22 December 2023 – Seatrium Limited (Seatrium, or the Group) is pleased to announce that it has successfully delivered a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), Energos Celsius, to New Fortress Energy (NFE), one of the world’s leading LNG project developers. Energos Celsius is owned by Energos Infrastructure, a global marine infrastructure platform backed by Apollo funds (NYSE:APO) and NFE, and the vessel is on long-term charter to NFE in Brazil.

The FSRU was completed safely, on time and within budget, and has departed the Seatrium shipyard for Brazil. It will subsequently be deployed at NFE’s completed LNG terminal in Barcarena, Pará state, Brazil.

Mr Marlin Khiew, Executive Vice President, Oil & Gas (Americas), Seatrium said, "We would like to express our appreciation to New Fortress Energy for their trust and confidence in our commitment and capabilities as well as for the strong teamwork throughout the duration of the project. We are proud to successfully deliver the FSRU to New Fortress Energy and look forward to partnering with them on more projects. This project marks Seatrium’s fourth FSRU project for Brazil and it demonstrates our commitment and reliability in supporting the development and growth of the country’s oil and gas industry.”

FSRU Energos Celsius will have a nominal regasification capacity of 750 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd), up to a maximum capacity of 1,000 mmscfd. FSRU Energos Celsius is a critical part of NFE’s LNG terminal development at Barcarena which includes a long-term gas contract to supply Norsk Hydro at the Alunorte alumina refinery, a 630 MW gas-to-power project under construction by NFE, and further power and fuel expansion projects in the region. This LNG import terminal will be the first LNG import facility in the state of Pará and the Northern region of Brazil.

New Fortress Energy Signs FSRU Charter to Start Operations of LNG Import Terminal in Santa Catarina, Brazil in January 2024

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2023-- New Fortress Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: NFE) announced that it has executed a definitive agreement to charter the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (“FSRU”) Energos Winter from Petrobras starting in December 2023. The FSRU Energos Winter will be immediately deployed to Terminal Gas Sul (“TGS”), NFE’s newest LNG import terminal in Santa Catarina, Brazil which will start commercial operations ahead of schedule in January 2024.

“We are extremely pleased to reach this agreement with Petrobras and begin operations at the TGS terminal in Santa Catarina, Brazil ahead of schedule in January 2024. The TGS terminal is a unique, high-growth opportunity for NFE, as connection to the pipeline system in south Brazil offers a diverse and near-term set of opportunities across power and gas supply," said Andrew Dete, Managing Director of New Fortress Energy.

The Energos Winter will be sub-chartered by NFE through the remaining term of the Petrobras charter with Energos infrastructure and then direct-chartered by NFE on a long-term basis with Energos. This will enable NFE to commence commercial operations at TGS in January 2024 and continue uninterrupted service on a long-term basis. Energos Infrastructure, the owner of the Energos Winter, is owned 80% by funds managed by Apollo and 20% by NFE.
